JOINING THE UN SDG’S
The United Nations General Assembly (UN) has great plans for all of us and encourage companies, brands and people to be part of their 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all."
The 17 SDGs are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
In order to achieve these 17 SDGs by 2030, the support of socially-driven brands and "companies with soul" is essential.
Here at Bagby, we think this is an amazing initiative and we want to be part of the movement.
HOW WE ARE GOING TO DO IT
We are going to focus our efforts on the SDGs that we think can have a high impact and those are the following:

3. GOOD HEALTH AND WELLBEING
“It's not only about reducing our screen time but increasing our HUMAN time.”
Technology, especially the rise and overuse of mobile digital devices (smartphones and tablets), impacts overall wellbeing. Indeed, smartphone addiction now ranks as one of the greatest issues worldwide.
At Bagby, we believe there is a better way to overcome the omnipresence of technology. Our mission is to reduce people's screen time while increasing their HUMAN time.
We challenge ourselves to create the world’s first DIGITAL-FREE LABEL to certify products like ours in the next 5-10 years. It might seem irrelevant right now, but other labels like gluten-free, GMO-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, paraben-free, plastic-free, or cruelty-free were irrelevant ten years ago. These labels have a significant influence on consumer behavior. Many people filter their searches to contain these labels and use them to help inform their purchase decisions.
Things are changing, and we see the opportunity to leverage on what we like to
call “ANALOG NOSTALGIA” - the nostalgia of a simpler time when human
connections were valued over social media likes.

4. QUALITY EDUCATION
“Top technology leaders like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates admitted they've even restricted or limited their children's screen time."
In 2020 we switched our focus to schools, education, and parenting. According to an article in the New York Times, screens have taken over, and more often than not, during essential family moments. This has adverse consequences with regard to children's development. Screens also have been known to reduce children’s attention span. Indeed, top technology leaders like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates admitted they've even restricted or limited their children's screen time. Chris Anderson, the former editor of Wired, places limits and parental controls on all devices because he “[has] seen the dangers of technology firsthand…[and doesn’t] want to see that happen to [his] kids.”
We believe technology is a powerful tool to connect, communicate, and collaborate with others. However, as parents, we believe teaching kids at an early age to be more mindful when using technology is a formula for success. This will help raise future leaders who will be able to face life’s biggest challenges in this new ultra-connected and globalized world. How we prepare our kids today will shape the world as we know it, so now is the perfect time to build a legacy that will create more equality, freedom, and a socially-conscious future generation.
We are collaborating with external screen time consultants to reach out to schools to create a custom and relevant classroom solution. Also, we are helping the high-schoolers who helped create the LOG OFF MOVEMENT—a movement dedicated to rethinking social media by teens for teens—to raise awareness of smartphone addiction and develop more mindful future generations.
8. DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
“We are fair-trade.”
Our original Bagbys and our face masks are handmade in a small workshop in Argentina. Our choice to support these artisans boosts their local economy in a country currently undergoing a continuous economic crisis over the last 20 years. Fair trade contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions and ensures workers get a fair wage for their labors. We accept the producer price without any negotiations and always keep a fair-trade approach in mind with our business decisions.

10. REDUCE INEQUALITIES
“We believe "Digital Wellness" shouldn't be a LUXURY.”
This is why we have created FREE and useful solutions for people who want to start their digital wellness journey but may not have the means.
1) Lock Screens so you can start your Phone-Free Journey easily and free. Customizing your lock screen image is a great way to ensure that it’s the result of a deliberate choice when you make it past that lock screen and spend time on your phone. These lock screens are a digital item in collaboration with the photographer and artist Ritzo Ten Cate ("Caught in the App").
2) A Tech-Free and Printable Screen Time Tracker that we offered to families struggling with parenting with tech during COVID.
3) We offer a collaboration program with a higher commission than our competitors that can help people in need to generate additional income by helping others – Join today and help others begin their digital wellness journey!
4) During COVID-19, we are giving the profits generated from our new cloth masks to organizations that help others. Learn more here!
12. RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION
“With nowadays accelerated population growth, we need to be more conscious than ever with the earth.”
Since 2020, we have started adopting more sustainable practices and integrated sustainability information into our processes.
Today, most of our products are made from recycled plastic bottles (Bagby Social). Indeed, we have added a mark with your sustainable contribution so that whenever you purchase or use our solutions you are contributing to a greener planet.
Also, we have upgraded our shipping supplies to remove plastic by 90%.
Additionally, we have partnered with platforms like Etsy and logistics companies to make our shipping supports verified "Emissions Reduction” projects. These investments support environmentally sound projects, such as protecting forests to improve air quality and absorb carbon, sponsoring wind and solar farms in order to generate clean energy and replace fossil fuels, and developing greener methods for producing auto parts.
Lastly, our goal is to become a Certified B Corporation—a type of business that balances purpose and profit.
