How did Bagby begin?
Bagby is the result of a personal story / experience. The idea was born on Kickstarter on July 2017 to help my wife and a I reconnect to take our relationship to the next level. We realized our phones were taking us away from a mindful and healthy relationship path so I proposed to start a #PhoneFreeBedroomChallenge . Soon after, we discovered the benefits this simple change in behavior could bring to people, especially couples like us, so we decided to create Bagby. Truth be told, we haven’t brought our phones back in the bedroom since.
Back in October 2017, our first and only child was born. This is the reason why our first logo has a baby face.
What is Bagby's WHY and Values?
For the last 25 years, Big Tech companies have pitched the
same line: “We are doing [this]… to make the world a better place.” In fact, Big Tech companies keep creating technology that is confusing, unnecessary and
even harmful to human beings. The collateral damage is omnipresent in today’s society:
Exponential increase on mental health issues, depression and anxiety levels,
the sleep epidemic, the loss of our privacy, cyberbullying, etc.
We believe tech companies didn't fulfill their promise and we feel the
"real" world is a much better place to live in than the digital one.
That’s the reason why we handmade products that are:
1- Human-First.
2- Sustainably-made.
3- Simple and Easy-to-use.
This translate into our commitment to make products that are FREE from; what we
identified as digital harmful ingredients:

Who are the creators and what's your background?
Bagby is a family owned and ran business and was co-founded by Juan Sanchez and his wife Noor. He is a digital marketing consultant in his previous life and reborn as a digital wellness consultant. I know It feels contradictory, but being on one side or the other of the digital distraction equation is often a very narrow line. His background is actually in digital and social media marketing. He holds two master’s degrees in digital marketing and I spent about 12 years both as a freelancer and in the agency world working for international brands around the planet (Spain, France, Luxembourg, Singapore and Southeast Asia, Los Angeles). One day like any other day, he had a wakeup call and he felt that I needed a change; he felt that he wanted to do something more purposeful that can help people. We can say he went from being part of the problem (people creating digital distraction) to focusing on reducing it.
The interesting thing is that many people we've connected with in this new space of digital wellness / wellbeing have gone through a similar process.
As a part of team, we can find his wife, marketers, designers, logistic specialists and freelancers.
Is Bagby a socially-driven company?
We believe that all companies should be more than just a product. This means that we are not only focusing on doing right by our consumers and developing great products, but that we work on initiatives that bring value to the community we serve, the industry we belong to, the planet we source from and the bigger problem we are trying to solve.
We are part of an ecosystem and as such, we want to play a key role.

Where is Bagby made?
We started our production in a small workshop in Argentina.
Currently, we design all our products in USA (Raleigh, NC) and we use materials from different parts of the world (Taiwan, New Zealand, USA, China, Poland, etc.) so we can offer you the best quality at an affordable price.
Do Bagby products fit any phone, size, etc?
Yes, Bagby products are designed to fit any phone, smartphone, size, brand, etc, Including XL, MAX, Plus and any new model.
With that said, you might encounter some issues if you use extra large or super bulky phone covers.
What are the key benefits of using Bagby?
Our products are designed to help you with your digital wellbeing and mental health. They are free from digital harmful ingredients.
The most common benefits our supporters have reported are:

Is Bagby only for the bedroom?
Although the bedroom is the best starting point to start your digital wellbeing journey and where Bagby was born, we have extended our offering to cover other important areas including: parenting with tech, home, workspace, couples, away, etc.

What harmful ingredients are your products free from?
If we make purchase decisions based on wellbeing labels like GMO-free, Gluten-free, Fat-free; etc. Shouldn’t we label products that impact our digital wellbeing, too?

What type of batteries do your clocks use?
Our clock use 1 AA battery (It can last between 12 - 24 months depending on the battery brand). We believe this is better than a clock plugged in with a cable so you can use it anywhere.
We recommend only carbon-zinc batteries because alkaline batteries are more powerful and have high voltage, which could damage the clock movement. HERE is our recommended option.
What kind of finish you use on the clocks?
We used a water-based paint which is no VOC.

Where does Bagby ship from and to?
Although we are based in USA (North Carolina), we ship worldwide. We want Bagby to be available all around the world.
For European and UK orders you need to place your order via our Etsy store due to some change in tax law.
How to you ship your orders?
We normally use a USPS service for businesses but you might find other options (Fedex, UPS, etc) depending on where you are located. Once we sent your Bagby, you will receive a tracking code to track the status of your order at all times.
What is your privacy policy?
We take privacy very seriouly. You can find all details in our privacy policy page.
What is your return policy?
Our clients have always kept their orders and loved them.We don't often receive any refund request but if you don't like your Bagby item, we offer easy returns + human customer service. Contact us within 30 days of delivery using email help [@] bagby.zendesk.com

Do I receive any a product warranty with my purchase?
Yes, at Bagby we believe in the quality of our goods and warrants to the consumer that, for up to 1 year from the date of purchase, the goods will be replaced or repaired when there is a defective in materials or workmanship.
Bagby Warranty does not cover damage caused by abuse, neglect, unreasonable use of the product or failure to follow instructions provided with the product. We do not warrant against normal wear, including lens scratching or accidental product breakage.
Lost items are not covered by the warranty. This warranty doesn't cover any shipping costs associated to returns or replacements.

When is your support team available?
Our HUMAN Customer Satisfaction Team is available via email or social media from Monday to Friday 8am-8pm. We unplug on the weekends to take care of our wellbeing.
