Do I need both?

They do different halves of one job. The clock wakes you gently, so your phone is off alarm duty. The bag gives the phone a place to sleep, so it is not on the nightstand asking for attention. Together, the swap is complete.

Can my phone still charge overnight?

Yes. The ORIGINAL has an inside strap that holds your charging cable, so your phone charges while it sleeps in the bag.

Which colors come in the set?

You choose the clock finish (Dark, Scandinavian, or Black). The bag ships in Gray / Charcoal, the classic Bagby felt.

Is the alarm loud enough to wake me?

The chime starts softly and grows louder until you are awake. It is gentle, but it is persistent. You can hear it before you buy: there is a preview on the CLASSIC product page.
