Is it really silent?

Yes: the movement is a continuous sweep, not a tick-tock step, so there's no second-hand ticking at all. It's quiet enough for the lightest sleeper. The alarm, when it's time, is a separate gentle sound.

Does it need a battery, and is one included?

It runs on a single AA that lasts roughly 12 to 24 months. The battery isn't included in the box, so keep one on hand. No cord and no charging; set it anywhere you like.

Can I see the time at night?

There's no glowing face or hands to disturb your sleep. A button on the back lights the dial softly when you want to check the time, then it goes dark again. No blue light at all.

How is the Minimalist different from the other clocks?

I really like this clock. It has a beautiful, simple look, is really SILENT, and is accurate. The alarm is very reliable to wake me up on time. I no longer need to relay on my iPhone as an alarm clock. 100% satisfied with this purchase.

Very Well Done

Like everything about this little clock except one thing: I wish I could set it so the light stays 'on.' The photos show a glowing dial, but that's not the case. You have to reach around and push the button to read the time in the middle of the night.

I love it!

It looks great. It's very simple to use, completely silent and doesn't have a distracting light. I've been keeping my phone downstairs and my phone time is already way down from using the alarm clock.

Great clock but single use battery

I gave this clock to my son as a gift. He like the idea but was immediately disappointed that it can’t be recharged. The battery has to be thrown out and young people aren’t used to that. Usually things can be recharged by USB. He is concerned about the environment. Other than the disposable problem, the clock is great and will help him avoid his phone at night so he can sleep better.
